Hi Guys!

Have you ever wondered what else you can do to improve your dancing?

Are you frustrated at not getting better, even though you are doing all that your teacher is telling you to do?

Are you keen to find out the secrets that girls all over the world are now using to become better dancers and avoid injury?

Well, you have come to the right place! Now I know there is a lot to read on this page, but I just wanted to fill you in on all the details about this fantastic new course. I want you to make an informed decision about whether this is the right thing for you or not.

Because this course is not right for everyone.

• If you already know absolutely everything there is to know about pointe then you probably don¡¦t need this course.

• If you have perfect control of each of your individual toes, never lose your balance in class, and can do 32 perfect Fouettˆms (in both directions), then you probably shouldn¡¦t buy it either.

However, if you are just starting out en pointe, get blisters, sore feet or wobble en pointe, or if you are a dance teacher who is keen to learn how best to help your students progress en pointe, then this is the course for you!

Even girls who have been en pointe for years and teachers who have danced in some of the top ballet companies in the world have been astounded at how much they have learnt about their own feet by working through this course. Many wished that it had been available when they were starting their career as it explains the reasons behind so many career ending injuries.

This course is absolutely unique in the way that it guides you step by step through assessing your own feet and helps you understand exactly why things happen in your feet the way they do.

It has four stages that assess the flexibility of your feet and ankles; the strength of all the little muscles in your feet; your turnout muscles; and your core strength and balance. Follow along in the manual as you listen to me explaining all of the details of each test and exercise!

This section includes tests and exercises to make sure that you can get your foot into the best position for pointe work. Some people will find this stage easy, others will find it harder. No matter where you start, the easy exercises and stretches will help you get a great looking pointe. This is obviously VERY important for getting onto pointe.
Here you learn all about the different muscles in your feet, and why it is important to get the right ones strong! Mastering the fine control of your toes helps prevent blisters on the toes, as well as overuse problems in the shins. This stage will transform how you work with your feet forever!
Getting onto pointe is not all about your feet! Find out how to find your true turnout muscles, and make them stronger, so that you don't start dancing in parallel once you are up en pointe!
Finding your balance off the barre, and strengthening you 'core muscles' is so important in keeping your body strong! A dancer can have fantastic feet, but unless she can hold it all together, she will not go very far!

You test yourself at the start of each of the 4 stages, and then learn a program of special exercises that really focus on waking up all of the important muscles. After doing all the exercises for two weeks, you can retest yourself, and if you can do them all fabulously, you can move onto the next stage.

It Is Really Important To Learn All This Before You Start En Pointe.
(Although it is better late than never!)
This is an excellent manual for both pre-pointe and advanced dancers. It is simple to use, and will be a great help to students who are serious about developing good pointe work. Lisa has written many helpful exercises, with clear photographs to demonstrate how to improve strength and prevent injury. This manual would also be very useful for teachers, and particularly student teachers, who want to learn how to safely prepare their pupils for pointe work.

Dear Lisa,

I want to thank-you for your brilliant pointe work book which I bought recently. I stumbled onto it while searching Google images for pointe shoes to use in a newsletter for my students. Your book has become my pointe work 'bible' and I'm planning to use it as the source for a pre-pointe class for students who are approaching pointe work.

Thanks again,
Kathleen S

The Perfect Pointe Book fills a wide gap in the education of ballet students in many countries. Lisa Howell is well qualified to answer all the "questions you have always wanted to ask" about pointe work and gives generously of her knowledge in terms which everyone (teachers, students and parents) can understand. The best thing about this book is that shows the student how best to prepare for pointe work and how to improve and maintain their strength for further training. This book can be highly recommended as a tool for teachers as well as students of classical ballet.

A lot of girls (and their parents) are understandably scared of what pointe work will do to their feet, and are worried about it being painful. In the past, with badly fitting shoes and often poor strength in the feet, many dancers did get terrible pain and had problems with their feet.

But this is not the case anymore!

This fantastic program teaches you how to strengthen your feet and body in the shortest space of time. Now that pointe shoes are available in so many different fittings, if your feet are very strong, and the shoes fit well, it is quite possible to dance with little or no pain at all! If you start off knowing what to feel, and how to get the most out of your shoe, you can have a long and happy career dancing on your toes.

In the past, this kind of specific strength only came with years of training, and learning it all the hard way. Thanks to my years of experience in working with dancers and seeing what makes the fastest improvements, this program is now available for you to take advantage of! After years of working with dancers, personally and as a therapist, and constantly seeing the same problems en pointe, I simply had to find a way to teach girls how to get it right from the beginning. The problem is, if you start off with bad technique, it is VERY hard to UNLEARN this later on.

You can learn fantastic technique NOW, and find out how your feet work, so that when you go onto pointe, you will get much better, much faster, than girls who try to learn it as they go.

If you are planning on any form of career or continued practice in ballet, this course is an essential part of your ballet training. Whether you are just beginning pointe, or have been en pointe for years, you will learn so much about your body and how it should work by going through this process.

With this course you get to learn what muscles do what, why some people find it easier than others, how to improve your turnout and how to get a great looking pointe!

I wanted to make learning about the body as fun, and as easy, as possible. And now it is even easier than ever! All of the exercises have lots of photos so that you can see exactly how to do them, and with my voice explaining each one, you don¡¦t even have to read the manual!

Though The Perfect Pointe Book is written for young dancers who are just getting started, I have found the information to be a great resource to share with my university dancers. The pre-pointe assessments, descriptions of common problems and suggestions for strengthening exercises are particularly useful. Your emails on a variety of topics are informative and often timely. A student had just asked me about Achilles tendon problems when your email on the subject arrived. It made my job easy to just print it off and hand it to her. The students really liked your video on breaking in pointe shoes. Most said that they had not been taught to do that properly. Thank you for your book, your emails and your informational videos. You are providing a much needed service.

Dear Lisa,

I'm just starting my work on pointe and your tips are helping me a lot. I'm more stable on pointe and more satisfied while I work. Those tips are something that even my teacher didn't know. So thank you. It was really great idea to help people like this.

Kristina

Hey Lisa!

Actually just before I got my first pointe shoes I was working for about a month on the book and I am the only one of 4 others that can actually get fully onto pointe! I'm so proud!!! Your book has really helped me a lot! Thank you for all your help!!! Their shoes look brand new and mine are all broken in and worn a bit! Except I have to stay behind with them because we went on pointe at the same time. This is only the 5th day anyway and it's only a 2 week camp so I guess I'll probably be with the older girls when the fall session starts! My ballet teacher puts me in groups with the older girls in demi-pointe classes. Anyway thank you for all your help! I think that toe swapping helped a lot too! Well I have to go now so I'll keep in touch with you!

Bye, Alyna

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! I love your book Lisa. Your book is a wonderfully written, beautifully illustrated and simple to follow program. What an amazing gift you have to share.

Kind Regards,

Hi Lisa!

Just a note to thank you for everything you put into writing & marketing your book on pointe work--what a treasure! I found you/it via Deborah Vogel's Dancing Smart newsletter and am so excited to apply your advice and exercises in my pointe classes! I own a small studio in Columbus, Ohio, and ballet is our biggest program, and my personal baby. I am blessed to have a practicing physical therapist as my jazz instructor and assistant director, as well as my best friend, and the knowledge of people like her, you, and Deborah Vogel enable me to keep my promise of safety to my clients.

As for my own pointe training, it was decent, although I feel as if I wasn't really trained in the nitty-gritty how-to's of how to work in those shoes. I was always strong & had great feet, so much of it came naturally to me, but teachers always said, "pull up," or "work thru your feet," and I tried, but didn't really know what that meant. Folks like you teach folks like me exactly what those teacher-ese terms mean and I am a much more effective pointe instructor for it, and my students are better trained than I was. Thank you so much for what you do--it has a ripple effect that is spreading worldwide, even as far as the corn-belt of America!

Very sincerely,
Jennifer C

Lisa

I want to thank you... I watched a few of your videos on YouTube and they were very good and informative, even after 13 yrs of dance. In fact, one of them gave me insight on an old injury, and I am figuring out more correct ways to move!

Best wishes and good luck,
Laura J

Top Sites: Caterpillar Equipment Caterpillar Incorporated, also known as CAT is a United States based corporation that is based in Peoria, Illinois. The company commonly known as CAT is known around the world as the largest manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, and industrial gas turbines. Well known and famous for their products that feature the Caterpillar track and distinctive yellow paint, CAT produces a wide range of heavy equipment for all types of jobs, including the very popular Caterpillar D9 bulldozer. History The story of CAT dates back to the late 19th century, when Daniel Best and Benjamin Holt were experimenting with different ways to fulfill the promise that steam tractors held for farm work. Prior to 1925, the Holt family had pioneered track tractors and gasoline powered engines. After the companies of Best and Holt were merged, the company went through several changes then at the end of World War 2, they began to grow at a very fast pace, launching the first venture outside of the country in 1950, which marked the beginning of CAT development into a big corporation. CAT equipment ranges from track type tractors to hydraulic excavators, backhoes, motor graders, off road trucks, wheel loaders, tractors, diesel and gas engines, and gas turbines. CAT equipment is used in construction, excavation, building roads, mining, energy, forestry, transportation, and material handling companies. Sales Over half of CAT's sales are to customers in overseas areas. CAT products are sold in almost 200 different countries. The company has a worldwide network of over 200 dealers - 63 in the United States and over 150 in other countries. CAT equipment and components are manufactured in 42 plants in the United States and 58 plants in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, England, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, and several other countries. Labor CAT almost went down in the early 1980s due to the massive union strikes and a down turn in product demand. At the time, several news reports indicated that products were piling up so high in facilities that temporary workers hired to work the lines could barely get to their stations to perform their jobs. In the 1990s, CAT suffered yet another long strike in which the company hired what it deemed to be permanent replacements for union workers that were on strike. During both strikes, jack rocks were placed in the home entrances of many of CATs top executives and employees, puncturing the tires of their vehicles and making things worse for the company. Not long after the strike of the 1990s ended and the economy started to get back up again, CAT adopted the "6 Sigma" quality management program, to help reduce costs and inventory and identify and correct the defects in processes and products.
